Why Fasting Matters Before Your Blood Test
Fasting means abstaining from food and calorie-containing drinks for a specific window before your test. Water is generally allowed and even encouraged.
Tests that typically require 10–12 hours of fasting include lipid profile, fasting blood sugar, and certain metabolic panels. Non-fasting values can be significantly skewed.
If you accidentally eat, tell the technician — a small change in timing is far better than an inaccurate result that could lead to a wrong diagnosis.
Our team confirms fasting requirements at the time of booking, and we send reminders the night before your home collection appointment.
